Little Seedlings FREE November Workshop: The journey of a leaf

Little Seedlings November Workshop | The journey of a leaf | 1 November | FREE

At Little Seedlings this November, your little one will follow the journey of a leaf through its different seasons, from spring bud through to winter fall.

Together, we'll explore the science behind a leaf's lifecycle, as well as their roles in creating energy for plants and trees, different kinds of leaves and how we can use them to identify trees, weird and wonderful leave around the world, and why leaves change colour.

Towards the end of the workshop, children will discover how leaves can be used as compost, and how they can help create shelter for wildlife before creating their very own paper plate leaf wreath to take home and decorate for autumn.

This workshop will cover:

  • The lifecycle of a leaf

  • The plant’s food factory

  • Leaves on the menu

  • Why do leaves look so different?

  • Identifying trees from their leafy clues

  • Leaf sorting mini activity

  • Nature’s compost

  • Wildlife homes

  • Paper plate leaf wreath workshop activity
