In October’s Little Seedlings Workshop, children will uncover the weird and wonderful world of fungi! They’ll discover the hidden networks living beneath our feet made up of one of the most mysterious living things in nature.
We'll share the secrets of mushrooms and explore how they grow, the different species, and why they're some of nature's most important helpers.
Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, children will learn why mushrooms often appear during autumn, and how they act as 'recyclers' by breaking down dead, natural material.
The workshop will explore some fascinating UK species, the spooky history behind toadstools (it is October, after all!), and incredible glow-in-the-dark mushrooms!
We'll also cover surprising ways fungi are used to help the planet, how to stay safe around wild mushrooms, and finish the session by creating a mirror-print mushroom.
