Little Seedlings Club June Workshop - Garden Helpers: the busy world of pollinators | Sunday 7 June
June’s Little Seedlings workshop is all about pollinators and the important role they play in our gardens. Children will discover how plants grow and reproduce, learning how pollen moves between flowers and helps create seeds, fruits, and new plants. They’ll explore a range of common UK pollinators, and find out how different insects are attracted to different types of flowers. The workshop also connects pollination to everyday life, showing how many of the foods we eat rely on these garden visitors. Children will also learn simple ways to make their gardens more pollinator-friendly. The session includes interactive discussions and a hands-on planting activity, where children create their own pollinator-friendly pot to take home.
This workshop will cover:
- How plants spread and grow
- Why do flowers need help?
- How pollen moves between flowers
- Meet the garden helpers
