z - Little Seedlings Club: July Workshop – Magnificent Microgreens 2022

This month’s Little Seedlings workshop we take a closer look at magnificent microgreens including the science behind them, the amazing health benefits they offer and how to grow your own at home.

The workshop will cover:

  • An introduction to microgreens and what they are
  • Description of where microgreens exist in the plant lifecycle
  • Different types of microgreens (and their adult plant versions)
  • How microgreens first became popular
  • Activity – guess the microgreens
  • The health benefits of microgreens (vitamins, minerals and nutrition)
  • How chefs use microgreens in different ways
  • Activity – create your own windowsill planter
  • How to grow microgreens at home

-       Please note:

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Parents or guardians wishing to order hot drinks for the session in advance can do so during the booking process.
  • Dates and times for our Little Seedlings Clubs vary by store and not all stores are able to participate. 
  • Advance booking is required with spaces booked quickly – please book early to avoid disappointment.
  • Where a session is shown as 'Sold Out' – we're sorry, there are no more tickets available for that time.
  • Little Seedlings Club is currently not running at Beaconsfield, Hungerford, Keston and Thornbury
  • The July workshop will not run in our Huntingdon store

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Here are the details of the workshop:

  • When you arrive at the store, please check the location of the workshop at the customer services desk
  • Workshops last for approximately 60 minutes and are free to attend
  • Each child will receive a membership pack containing an attendance card and stickers
  • Children will learn about the topic, and there will be a game and/or activities
  • Suitable for children aged 4-10 years
  • Parents/Guardians must stay with children for the duration of the workshop 
  • Should you wish to take photos at the workshop you MUST ensure no other children from the workshop are included in the photo
  • The club runs on the first Sunday of every month. Times vary per store
  • These workshops are very popular and we would appreciate if you can let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can open up the space to someone else
