This month’s Little Seedlings workshop will cover everything to do with terrific tomatoes.
We will take a look at the different varieties that we can grow in our gardens, discover how the tomato came to be so popular and how it is celebrated around the world.
We then make our own tomato pals and plant a cherry tomato hanging basket together.
The workshop will cover:
- Investigating the tomato plant and its different parts
- Looking at the different types of tomatoes you can grow
- The history of tomatoes and their growing popularity from being something that people once thought were poisonous
- Discussing whether tomatoes are a fruit or vegetable
- Making your own tomato friend
- How to successfully grow tomatoes at home with a focus on hanging baskets
- Please note:
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
